I'm told today that the terms of the Cubs sale have been finalized. And it only took 2.5 years!!! Wow. All I can say is good riddance Sam Zell, and good luck with your bankrupt company.
Speaking of bankruptcy, there are still two more hurdles to overcome: bankruptcy court and the other 29 MLB owners. Neither hurdle should prove to be too difficult, and I hear the Ricketts familly should have control by November.
This is some good news in what has been a very dreary year. Unfortunately, the Tribune will not be taking the bad contracts with them.
